At present we have sixty members in our school choir from third , fourth, fifth and sixth classes. Our singers are accompanied by pupils on the tin whistles, flutes , guitars and percussion. We perform the majority of our songs in two parts and rehearsals are held in the school hall every Tuesday from 09;45 -10:50 under the direction of Ms. Gorry, Mr. Kilbride, Ms. Mulcahy, Ms. Mullen and Ms. Melia. We had a very successful year last year. We performed at The Solstice , Navan in a Christmas concert, Knightsbridge and St. Joseph's nursing homes, our Christmas carol service, communion ceremony, second class induction visit , our sixth class graduation ceremony and at many assemblies. We recorded seven songs on our second school c.d entitled "Guthanna " which we launched in June 2014. This cd is available at a cost of ten euro for one and twenty five euro for three from the school and includes performances from all pupils in St. Michael's. Our students learn to perform an Irish Traditional music repertoire on the tin whistle and we recommend a minimum of ten minutes practice daily.
